Protect your microphone with Oticon O-Cap & T-Cap microphone filters

Your hearing aid’s microphone sits in a vulnerable position, so it’s crucial to protect it. When dirt and debris from your ears and surroundings reach the microphone, the sound quality can degrade. Therefore, use an Oticon O-Cap or T-Cap microphone filter to shield the microphone input. These filters actively guard against dirt, moisture, and earwax. This protection ensures clear sound quality and reduces the need for repairs. By replacing the filters regularly, you maintain optimal performance.

Oticon O-Cap is designed for newer Oticon in-the-ear hearing aids. The nano-coated filter effectively prevents foreign objects from entering the microphone input, which is a common cause of malfunctions.

Oticon T-Cap is ideal for Oticon IIC and CIC hearing aids. It protects the microphone from harmful particles, keeping the sound clean and clear. The T-Cap filter is also nano-coated to block debris efficiently.

To achieve the best possible sound quality, replace the O-Cap and T-Cap filters every 6 to 8 weeks, or more frequently if you are in dusty environments. If a filter becomes blocked, replace it immediately. You can also select the color that matches your hearing aid for a seamless look.

Replacing the microphone filter

When your hearing aids are exposed to dust, you may notice changes in sound quality. If communication becomes difficult and the sound is less sharp, it’s time to replace the microphone filters. Additionally, poor sound directionality and a lack of clarity indicate the need for new filters. Therefore, we recommend changing the filters regularly, at least every 6 to 8 weeks.

By replacing the microphone filters regularly, you protect your hearing aids from dirt and moisture. This action ensures that the sound quality remains as high as it was when you first purchased your hearing aids. Replacing the filter is easy with the tool provided in your order.
