What is TV Sound?

TV Sound is a Bluetooth® transmitter that streams high-quality TV audio directly to your hearing aids. It ensures a clear, personalized listening experience for television sound.

How do I connect TV Sound to my TV?

You can connect the unit in two ways:

Analog: Use the included 3.5 mm jack cable (purple port).
Optical: Use the optical cable (blue port) and connect to the TV’s “Optical OUT”.

Power is supplied via the included Micro USB cable.

How do I pair my hearing aids with TV Sound?

Turn on the TV Sound unit.
Restart your hearing aids:
- Rechargeable: insert into and remove from the charger.
- Battery-powered: open and close the battery door.
Place the hearing aids within 20 cm (8 inches) of the TV Sound device.
The LED will blink blue during pairing and turn solid blue once successful.

Can I pair multiple hearing aids with the same TV Sound?

Yes, but all hearing aids must support and use the same Bluetooth protocol. See the next section for important details about this.

Why can’t I pair a new hearing aid model with my existing TV Sound device?

Bluetooth is not just one single technology – it includes different protocols for different purposes. TV Sound supports several Bluetooth protocols, but only one protocol at a time.

Once the TV Sound is paired with a specific set of hearing aids (e.g., Pure IX), it will continue to use that protocol. If you switch to a different hearing aid type (e.g., Pure BCT IX), you must reset the TV Sound to pair it with the new model.

How do I reset the TV Sound?

Press and hold the reset button on the bottom of the unit.
Release the button when the LED turns off.
The LED will blink blue, indicating the device has been reset and is ready for new pairing.

How do I start streaming audio from the TV to my hearing aids?

You can start streaming in the following ways:

Via the Signia App: Tap “Stream” > “Play”.
Via a dedicated hearing aid program set by your hearing care professional.
Via the miniPocket remote control.

What do the LED indicators on TV Sound mean?

Pulsing blue: Searching for hearing aids.
Solid blue: Successfully paired.
Pulsing green: Device is on but not streaming.
Solid green: Streaming is active.
Blinking orange: Streaming paused for 30 seconds.
Solid red: Unrecognized audio format.
Blinking red: Device error.
Pulsing red: Device overheating.

Can I use TV Sound with a soundbar?

Yes. If the optical port is used for hearing aids, the 3.5 mm port can act as an optical output to connect to your soundbar. A mini-TOSLINK to TOSLINK cable (not included) is required.
